This is a test to measure the thickness of the cornea (the front surface of your eye). It is important for diagnosis and management of glaucoma as it helps us to predict the ideal pressure for your eye. Use of pachymetry improves surgical procedure outcomes and allows your doctor to reliably monitor changes in your cornea over time.
Corneal thickness as measured by corneal pachymetry can be an accurate predictor of glaucoma development when combined with standard intraocular pressure measurements. Corneal pachymetry is used by Vision Centre specialist ophthalmologists to better diagnose and detect early cases.
Please Note: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding with such a procedure you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
